Abstract

Indonesien hat die wachsende Nachfrage nach Informationstechnologien erkannt, wobei die junge Bevölkerung diese Technologie am schnellsten annimmt. Im Hinblick auf eine ausgewogene Wissens- und Informationsgesellschaft ist der Einsatz von Technologie von entscheidender Bedeutung für die Verbesserung der sozialen Entwicklung in Entwicklungsländern und wird als besonders wichtiges Instrument im Bildungsbereich angesehen. Der Bildungssektor ist gut positioniert, um das Potenzial der IKT für die Generation der Millennials in diesen Gesellschaften nutzbar zu machen. Auf der Grundlage einer Umfrage unter Studenten einer Universität in Jakarta versucht diese Studie, die Lern- und Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten zu ermitteln, die sich durch die digitale Technologie bieten, indem sie sowohl untersucht, wie Universitätsstudenten in Indonesien diese Technologie nutzen, als auch wie sie die Vorteile des digitalen Lernens erleben und wahrnehmen. Insbesondere wird untersucht, wie ihr Zugang zu und ihre Nutzung von Technologie mit ihrer digitalen Kompetenz und der von ihnen wahrgenommenen Nützlichkeit von IKT zusammenhängt. Im Allgemeinen sind indonesische Universitätsstudenten aktiv an einer Reihe verschiedener Online-Aktivitäten beteiligt, darunter auch an Bildungsaktivitäten, die wiederum zu besseren Online-Lernergebnissen führen. Ein besseres Verständnis der Rolle von digitaler Kompetenz und Lernumgebungen sowie der effektiven Nutzung von Technologie für das Lernen kann wichtige Erkenntnisse über Bildung und Technologienutzung in Indonesien und ähnlichen Kontexten liefern.
