Abstract

Touch-screen media have become an almost indispensable part of our everyday lives and are increasingly finding their way into the lives of young children (Feil 2014; Thole/Stuckert 2014; Aufenanger 2013; mpfs 2012). In the meantime, learning apps on various topics are offered for this age group. However, there is still a lack of empirical evidence on the short- and long-term effects of the use of such apps on child development (Judge et al. 2015; Kirkorian/Pempek 2013; Aufenanger 2013).
