Verena Doelker-Tobler: Pioneer, Networker and Boss

Abstract

Verena Doelker-Tobler shaped Swiss television programming from 1961 to 1996. Over the course of 35 years, she was responsible for children‘s and youth programs, programs for women and senior citizens, adult education and school television. She was a pioneer in program work, an excellent networker at home and abroad and my best boss. We met for years in the global television room of the Prix Jeunesse and at conferences of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for children‘s and educational programs. Later we worked together in Swiss television.
