Abstract

Multimedia has now also become an important subject area in education and psychology, after this new information technology development had initially been left to the engineering sciences, computer science, economics, communication science and others. In this context, pedagogy, motivated by publicised concerns of politicians, teachers, parents and educators, devotes itself to the new media technologies rather under media-educational aspects, while in psychology the cognitive effects and instructional uses of multimedia rather determine the research interest. But the possible influences of multimedia, including online data networks, on emotion, attitude and communication experience are now also receiving the greatest attention in psychology.
