Abstract

In the present study, we examined the question of whether learning success, multimedia use and the learning style type according to Kolb (1984) are connected in the distance learning course VIRT.UM, which is offered online. It turned out that although students selectively chose among the multimedia types offered to them when working with VIRT.UM, the selection did not depend on their respective learning style type. The learning success of the students was promoted by the use of certain multimedia types, but also did not depend on the learning style type. There are different, not mutually exclusive explanations for this.
