Abstract
The range of educational software covers a wide range of very different products. There is hardly any actual educational software that is specially produced for teaching and adapted to teaching materials and curriculum. In the project "Educational Software Evaluation" of the Pestalozzianum Zurich, teachers determine the quality of educational software by using it in class and evaluating it according to a criteria grid. An analysis of the data generated in the evaluation proves the problematic nature of the claim of an objective quality assessment. The problems with the application of the criteria grid and the assessment mode are shown and it is determined what the subjective quality standards of the evaluators are based on. These explanations are part of a research project for the further development of a theoretically sound, yet practical evaluation of educational software.
