Abstract

This paper was written as part of the DFG-funded research project "An Investigation into Media Use Behaviour of 12-20 Year Olds and the Development of Media Literacy in Adolescence", which is led by Klaus Peter Treumann, Uwe Sander and Dorothee Meister. It covers the federal states of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony-Anhalt with the three project locations Bielefeld, Halle a.d. Saale and Rostock. The research project combines qualitative and quantitative approaches to the research field in the form of group discussions, guided interviews and a standardised survey of young people. In the following, some findings of quantitative analyses are reported.
