Abstract

Science as a discursive practice is strongly dominated by the discussion of linguistic texts. Questionnaires contain items in linguistic form - and even where an image is presented, it is only a trigger that then leads to a linguistic-symbolic action (ticking off an answer, short linguistic comment), etc. The linguistic form of interviews (in-depth interviews, focus group interviews) has long been the focus of research. In qualitative research, too, the linguistic form of interviews (in-depth interviews, focus group interviews) has long been the centre of research interest. Only in recent years has the use of visual methods in qualitative research been increasingly discussed.
