Abstract

In the discussion of new media in higher education didactics, the question of how the efficiency of conventional courses can be increased through the use of computer networks or how organisational problems can be solved takes up a great deal of space. For example, it is being considered how lectures in "mass subjects" such as business administration or computer science can be supplemented or replaced by virtual events, or how the overloading of libraries can be reduced by making study materials available on the net. In these considerations or projects, the new media are incorporated into conventional teaching concepts - innovations in higher education didactics play a rather subordinate role (cf. Keil-Slawik, Beuschel, Gaiser, Klemme, Pieper & Selke 1997).
