Abstract
In the public discussion about multimedia and data highways, it is often suggested that school and learning could be considerably improved, if not revolutionised, with the new information and communication technologies (cf. e.g. "Revolution des Lernens", Der Spiegel 9/94, pp. 96-113). In this context, the discussion is partly based on naive and misleading assumptions about school teaching and learning (cf. on the attempt to expose such misleading assumptions, for example, the statement of the interdisciplinary working group "School and Computer" at the University of Paderborn 1995).Most read articles by the same author(s)
