Abstract

Media didactic research is characterised by individual projects in which the possibilities of new learning media are tested. As a rule, the learning theory approaches of behaviourism, cognitivism and constructivism are used for the theoretical justification and classification of the projects. This article will discuss some of the problems of such a foundation of media didactics. Up to now, the development of theory in media didactics has been characterised by the search for the "one" best approach to learning and teaching. In perspective, however, approaches based on learning theory and education theory should be linked more closely. Pragmatism sensu Dewey can serve as a guiding basis for the theoretical foundation of media didactics.
