Abstract

The relevance of learning processes that take place outside educational institutions is undisputed in (media) pedagogical discourse (cf. e.g. Hartung 2010). However, how exactly the interface between formally organised learning and knowledge acquisition and informal appropriation processes can be understood empirically and theoretically has not yet been sufficiently investigated. There are either publications that focus on formal educational contexts (for the context of schools, cf. e.g. Schulz-Zander et al. 2012) or on informal or
