Abstract

This article focuses on the use of tablets in academic learning and teaching and presents the study "UniPAd - iPads at the University of Augsburg" with its final results. This study, which started in the summer semester of 2012, initially investigated how students (without guidance or instruction from the lecturers) use and acquire tablets in everyday study. The main purpose of the study was to investigate the actual tablet use by students in light of the expected potential of the devices.
