Abstract
The current discussion on Web 2.0 raises the question of the future of traditional learning platforms. The article presents various development options and describes the perspectives of "social learning platforms". These focus on the activities of the actors and their interaction rather than documents and learning materials. They are permeable to information from and to the internet, resulting in different options for the privacy of information. Finally, they support collaboration, the development of acquaintances and the building of social groups. The question is how to design these social structures on a platform to promote community building in learning.
