Abstract

The number of households in Germany equipped with computers and digital media is continuously increasing (Infratest 2009). The spread among children and young people has also grown enormously; today, all households in which pupils between 12 and 19 years of age live have a computer and internet connection. More than three quarters of young people have their own computer or laptop (Medienpädagogischer Forschungsverbund Südwest 2010, 25).
